While not yet occurring in epidemic numbers here in Australia, the highly infectious, STI-like Mpox disease has been declared a public health emergency of international concern. So far this year, there have been over 300 cases diagnosed. In this presentation, Sexual Health Physician, Prof Jason Ong is both timely and valuable in terms of upskilling clinicians in suspecting, identifying, treating and preventing transmission of this new notifiable infectious disease.

Prof Jason Ong

Prof Jason Ong is an academic Sexual Health Physician with a passion for research among marginalised populations. He has a unique combination of skills and experiences of being a Clinician, Health Economist and Epidemiologist. He focuses his research on giving a voice to the voiceless and enjoys the challenge of shining light on taboo topics, to enable better decision-making
