About the Experts
Angela Newbound
Angela Newbound is a Registered Nurse and Immunisation Education Consultant based in South Australia, and has been delivering immunisation education and clinical support to general practice and other health professionals since 2000.She delivers clinical competency immunisation training workshops for pharmacists and continues to support immunisation providers through her role as the Immunisation Coordinator at the Adelaide Primary Health Network.She is a member of the Immunisation Coalition and provides clinical oversight of the PneumoSmart Vaccination Tool.
A/Prof Michael Woodward AM
A/Prof Michael Woodward AM is a Senior Geriatrician with a passion for health promotion in older people, including vaccine-preventable diseases. He is Director of Aged Care Research at Austin Health and has conducted several trials of vaccines. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Immunization Coalition and has written the Position Paper on Immunization of older people for the Australian and New Zealand Society of Geriatric Medicine. In 2016 he received Membership of the Order of Australia for his work in geriatric medicine and his communication to professionals.
