What you'll learn in this expert session
Oral corticosteroid use, even when given as short courses can have significant adverse long-term effects. In this presentation, Respiratory Physician and Researcher Prof David Price, presents the risks and benefits associated with oral corticosteroids in treating exacerbations of both asthma and COPD. He will also show Australian data on how commonly oral corticosteroids are taken and, most importantly, how health professionals can ensure the most appropriate utilisation of this very effective treatment mainly through exacerbation prevention.
