What you'll learn in this expert session
Malnutrition is startlingly common in our community. Recent studies in Australia have shown that malnutrition affects up to two-thirds of people in aged-care settings. Its detrimental effects cause significant illness, decrease quality of life and advance mortality. Learning Objectives:
- Define malnutrition
- Outline the effects of malnutrition
- Identify the signs and symptoms of malnutrition
- Learn practical strategies to initiate malnutrition screening in the community
- Discuss practical strategies to treat and manage malnutrition
