What you'll learn in this expert session

Functional gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, including colic, regurgitation, and constipation, are incredibly common in young children. Despite being common and almost always benign, these disorders cause a disproportionate amount of distress among concerned parents, who often present desperate for a diagnosis and treatment. In this presentation, Dr Rupert Hinds, Paediatric Gastroenterologist, explores how to manage these presentations in practice, covering history, assessment, reassurance, and advice. He also highlights how to avoid missing red flags that could indicate rare underlying pathologies.
