What you'll learn in this expert session

This presentation brings together a ‘brains-trust’ in the management of menopause. This expert panel is facilitated by well-known sexual health physician Dr Terri Foran and features Endocrinologist and President of the Australasian Menopause Society Dr Sonia Davison, Head of Royal North Shore’s Menopause and Menstrual Disorders Clinic, Prof Rod Baber, and GP Dr Sara Whitburn. Their panel discussion centres on a series of hypothetical patients, with each panellist offering practical strategies for treatment based on current available evidence and drawing on their considerable personal and professional experience.

Dr Terri Foran

Dr Terri Foran is a Sexual Health Physician and has a special interest in contraception, menopause issues and the management of sexually transmitted infections. She was previously the Medical Director of Family Planning NSW and is now in clinical practice in Darlinghurst. She is also engaged in both clinical and research work at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney.


Dr Sonia Davidson

Dr Sonia Davidson is an Endocrinologist and current President of the Australasian Menopause Society. She is a Clinical Fellow at Jean Hailes for Women’s Health and has an adjunct appointment at the Women’s Health Research Program, Monash University.



Dr Sara Whitburn

Dr Sara Whitburn is a General Practitioner and Medical Educator who works at Family Planning Victoria and Belmore Road Medical Centre. She is interested in Women’s health across all ages but in her clinical work focuses on menopause, midlife health and vulval medicine.



Prof Rod Baber

Prof Rod Baber is Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The University of Sydney and Head of the Menopause and Menstrual Disorders clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital. He is also Past President of both The International Menopause Society, and The Australasian Menopause Society and Chair of The Medical Advisory Board of Family Planning NSW. His editorial roles include Editor in Chief of Climacteric, the journal of The International Menopause Society and Associate Editor of The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
