What you'll learn in this expert session

Premature ovarian insufficiency (previously known as premature menopause) occurs when menopause begins before the age of 40, and it is more common than many realise.

In this presentation, Endocrinologist Dr Sonia Davison will outline the long‑term health effects linked to low oestrogen levels in premature ovarian insufficiency, including impacts on heart, bone and brain health. She will also walk through the latest guideline information relevant to clinical practice, highlight key considerations for ongoing support, and explore some of the unique challenges faced by those affected—such as psychological distress and fertility concerns.
