This presentation will highlight the spectrum of Chronic Pancreatitis and the symptoms associated with it. It will discuss the elements which would signify that a patient has a higher risk of developing chronic pancreatitis. The presentation will also explore its optimal management such as lifestyle changes and pharmacological therapies, as well as the future directions of management.

About the Expert
Prof Andrew Metz
Professor Andrew Metz is the Head of Endoscopy at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, having been previously Head of Endoscopy at Cambridge University Hospital in the UK. He has fellowships at Westmead Hospital Sydney and Cambridge UK. Metz performs endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic mucosal resection, endotherapy for Barrett's Oesophagus and luminal stenting. He is also an accredited endoscopist for the UK BCSP, involved in promotion of quality endoscopy and audit. Metz has a particular interest in pancreatology, running a multi-disciplinary pancreatic clinic. Research interests include novel molecular markers in pancreatico-biliary lesions, being Chief Investigator for several international studies, and novel endoscopic devices for diagnostics and therapeutics, including confocal endomicroscopy and EUS-RFA.
