What you'll learn in this expert session

Advances in technology, scientific understanding and techniques are allowing plastic surgeons to correct increasingly marked deformities be they congenital, post-trauma or post-surgical.

Plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr Joseph Dusseldorp will update health professionals on what can now be done to repair ear deformities, even very severe ear deformities. He will describe how new technology is enabling better pre-surgery planning, providing new options in prosthetics and helping restore function which is resulting in remarkable outcomes for patients.

About the Expert

Dr Joseph Dusseldorp

Dr Dusseldorp graduated from the University of Sydney in Medicine and Surgery with Honours. He initially trained at Prince of Wales Hospital before being offered a position as an Advanced Trainee in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr Dusseldorp gained experience from many of the major teaching hospitals in Sydney and currently operates at North Shore Private, Hunters Hill Private, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Concord Hospital. He has a keen interest in treating complex skin cancers, in particular on the face and ears.
